This news feed is contributions from ARMA Local Networks, news of forthcoming events, details of activities and other items of interest.

The basic idea behind the local network is that by working together in a defined geographical area the local clinicians, allied health professionals and service users can improve services for people with arthritis and musculoskeletal conditions. 

These highly valued groups are able to:

    • Monitor local service provision.
    • Identify and campaign on local service issues.
    • Raise local awareness and knowledge of the conditions

ARMA want to encourage people to use these tools to enhance their lives, develop local services and to raise awareness of musculoskeletal conditions.

The ARMA networks have the potential to become the focal point for a range of activities and they all provide and coordinate local information about services in the area.

They produce a local news sheet every couple of months and hold regular events to address local concerns.

        New Patient Campain Blog A new blog has been added to the new ARMA website for news and progress relating to Patient focused campains. The initial campain is a public awarness campain for Inflammatory Arthritis.     NASS launch new telephone Helpline

      The National Ankylosing Spondylitis Society (NASS) is officially launching their telephone helpline for people affected by ankylosing spondylitis (AS)   From 1 September 2011, the Helpline will be open between 0900 and 1200, Monday to Friday and will be staffed by Sally Dickinson, the Information Officer at NASS.
